The next Subaru WRX STI should look a lot like the WRX Concept (above)
Subaru fans were delighted that the new Subaru WRX STI – revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January – was actually going to make it to the UK, and at a price that isn’t too barking at £29k. But the joy that the new Scooby was heading for Subaru’s UK showrooms was tempered somewhat by its looks, looks that owed far more to the last generation WRX STI than the stunning Subaru WRX Concept we saw at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. The WRX Concept was everything we hoped the Scooby could be, with form being allowed to come to the fore rather than being a result of function, and making the WRX far more appealing.
The Nissan Versa hatchback will be redesigned, with styling similar to that of the new Note subcompact that the automaker revealed in Japan on Monday. Nissan said the Note will go on sale in Japan this fall and in Europe in 2013. The carmaker did not say when the Versa hatchback will go on sale, but the car is expected to reach showrooms early in 2013.

The bigger dimensions on the Freelander 2 have made the cabin more appealing. In many ways it reminds me of the interior on the previous model Range Rover Sport. The one I recently decried as “ill-conceived and felt low-rent”. Which was how it felt in the Sport (much improved now, I hasten to add).
